D'Angelo Russell is continuing his professional basketball journey abroad after securing an agreement with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. The former thirty-year-old guard departs North America following a departure from the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the month, marking a new chapter outside the National Basketball Association.
Originally selected second overall in the 2015 draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell endured a mixed initial tenure with the franchise before stints with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves. He later returned to Los Angeles via a multi-team trade in February 2023, delivering improved output that included averaging eighteen points during the 2023-24 campaign.
