England ODI, T20I squads for Australia tour announced, Jacob Bethell returns, Thomas Rew called-up

October 13, 2026

England has unveiled its touring rosters for the upcoming limited-overs fixtures in Australia, featuring sixteen players in both the one-day international and twenty-over squads. Harry Brook will lead the national side across both formats, while Jacob Bethell rejoins the group following his recovery from a knee injury sustained earlier against India.

Jofra Archer also makes his comeback to the fifty-over side, though he alongside Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, and Josh Tongue will depart early to prepare for a subsequent red-ball series in South Africa. The twenty-over selection introduces teenager Thomas Rew and Eddie Jack for their maiden international opportunities, while Phil Salt rejoins after healing from a quad issue.

Preparations for the trip commence with a fifty-over exhibition match against a Western Australia XI at the WACA in Perth on November 7. The multi-format series opens officially with the first one-day contest on November 13, traveling next to Adelaide and Hobart before the twenty-over fixtures begin in Melbourne on November 21.

Further matches will take place across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra through early December. Management has structured these squad choices to balance immediate competitiveness with physical workload preservation for fast bowlers ahead of upcoming Test commitments.
