Eli Stowers injury: Eagles place rookie tight end on injured reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles have moved first-year tight end Eli Stowers to injured reserve just prior to their Week 1 contest against the Washington Commanders. Selected by the franchise in the second round of the 2026 draft following first-round choice Makai Lemon, Stowers had experienced limited training sessions because of an ongoing hamstring issue and was previously deemed questionable.

His shift to the reserve list comes alongside other roster adjustments for the season opener, including the sideline designation of edge rusher Jonathan Greenard and the promotion of return specialist Britain Covey from the practice squad.
