Detroit Tigers players Dillon Dingler and Zach McKinstry have been named finalists for the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. The winners, determined by a combination of coaching staff voting and the SABR defensive index, are scheduled to be announced on November 1.
Dingler is considered the frontrunner for the catcher position after leading qualified players with significant defensive metrics, including 15 defensive runs saved. He faces competition from Austin Wells and Brandon Valenzuela.
Meanwhile, McKinstry is a finalist in the utility category, competing against Ezequiel Duran and Jose Caballero. While Duran is viewed as the favorite for the utility honor, McKinstry remains a strong contender following a season where he provided defensive value across multiple positions.
