Devils Hope They Revamped Their Roster, Like The Caps Did A Few Years Back

The New Jersey Devils enter their Saturday matchup against the Washington Capitals looking to prove they can compete with top divisional rivals. While New Jersey holds a 4-3 record, they are attempting to mirror Washington's successful strategy of retooling their roster around an existing core.

General manager Sunny Mehta has mirrored past Capitals acquisitions by bringing in players like Luke Evangelista, Declan Chisholm, and Amadeus Lombardi to bolster the lineup. Under coach Sheldon Keefe, the Devils have recently seen an offensive surge, netting 12 goals across their last two games.

Washington, meanwhile, continues to see success from their own recent roster additions, including Alex Tuch, Boone Jenner, and Jordan Kyrou, following earlier moves for Dylan Strome, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Jakob Chychrun.
