Coppa Agostini: Paul Lapeira returns to winning ways taking a breakaway sprint victory

Paul Lapeira triumphed at the Coppa Agostoni after prevailing in a six-rider sprint finish at the conclusion of the 166.7-kilometer Italian one-day race. The French competitor outpaced Mauro Schmid during the finale to secure his second victory of the campaign, while newly crowned world champion Brandon McNulty took second and Andrea Raccagni Noviero rounded out the podium in third.

The decisive breakaway formed after an active opening phase through the northern hills near Lissone, eventually establishing a gap that the chasing pack could not close.
