The Indianapolis Colts’ defensive line will face a setback as starting defensive end Arden Key is expected to miss significant time due to a hamstring injury sustained in Week 4. The 30-year-old veteran, who has been a consistent force this season, recorded eight tackles (three solo), a forced fumble, 11 total quarterback pressures, and half a sack in his first four starts for the Colts.
Per Pro Football Focus, Key has maintained a strong pass-rushing presence, grading out at +61.5 overall and +68.7 in pass-rushing metrics through the 2026 campaign. The injury occurred during the team’s Week 4 win over the Washington Commanders in London, leaving the Colts without their primary edge-rushing threat as they prepare for upcoming matchups.
With Key’s absence, the Colts will rely on depth options, including former second-round pick Jaylahn Tuimoloau, as well as rookies George Gumbs Jr. and Caden Curry, who are expected to see increased rotational roles.
The team also has practice-squad defensive end Mitchell Melton available for additional edge depth, ensuring some continuity in the defensive scheme despite the loss of their starter.
