College football scores yesterday: Results, who won top 25, notable games

October 18, 2026

A historic Saturday reshaped the college football landscape as five of the AP Top 25's seven highest-ranked programs lost on the same day in Week 7, a circumstance unprecedented since 1936. The day also witnessed Georgia, Alabama, and Texas all suffering defeats on the same date for the first time since October 26, 1996.

The slate delivered widespread disruption across the national rankings, highlighted by four separate clashes between AP Top 15 opponents for the first time since 2018.

Among the top outcomes, Auburn secured an upset over No. 1 Georgia.

No. 8 BYU hosted No.

2 Notre Dame in one of the most prominent contests in Cougars history, knocking off the Fighting Irish. Meanwhile, No.

6 Alabama visited Tennessee for the Third Saturday in October rivalry, a series in which the home squad has won the last five games. In Big Ten action, No.

4 Ohio State met No. 5 Indiana.

The Hoosiers entered with 22 straight wins and a 19-0 home mark, while Buckeyes standout and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Jeremiah Smith brought 38 career touchdown receptions into the game.

Florida earned a 27-24 victory against Texas, handing quarterback Arch Manning his initial home defeat as a starter. Gators defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud intercepted a pass thrown by Manning during the game.

The result marked the largest blown lead at home against an unranked foe for Texas since 1965. With the defeat, Texas became the first AP top-10 program to fall in consecutive games against unranked opponents since Darrel K Royal's 1965 roster.

Following the simultaneous losses by Georgia, Alabama, and Texas, the SEC contains only four programs with a single loss in league play. Across both the SEC and the Big Ten, UCLA stands as the lone remaining undefeated team after the Week 7 outcomes.

The College Football Playoff selection committee is scheduled to rank teams in two weeks.
