The WTA Finals will welcome two top American stars to the elite field in 2026, with Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula securing their spots in the season-ending tournament. Both players have dominated the rankings for nearly five years, with Gauff currently ranked world No.
5 and Pegula at No. 4.
Their rivalry reached a peak earlier this year when Gauff defeated Pegula in the Cincinnati Open final, marking the first all-American women’s singles championship match at the event since 1970. Pegula, meanwhile, added to her impressive 2026 resume by winning titles in Dubai and Charleston, including her fourth WTA 1000 trophy in the latter.
