Following an early season injury to Christian Moss, sophomore Chris Lawson stepped into a primary role for the Washington Huskies under head coach Jedd Fisch. Despite missing most of fall camp due to minor physical setbacks, the former four-star recruit has hauled in thirteen passes for 212 yards and a touchdown across the opening four games while linking up with quarterback Demond Williams Jr.
Wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings noted that the Archbishop Riordan High School product has unlocked his full potential simply by building trust and understanding assignments.
With the Washington offense facing protection hurdles and backfield constraints, Lawson figures to remain a focal point, particularly in quick passing situations where his yards-after-catch ability can shine. The team will look for him to maintain his upward trajectory as they prepare to face a USC secondary surrendering an average of 236.2 passing yards per contest.
