The Vegas Golden Knights extended their commanding start to the 2026-27 NHL season with a 6-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, further cementing their position atop the league standings. The victory marked the Golden Knights’ seventh win of the season, propelling them to a 7-2-0 record with 14 points—the best in the NHL.
Meanwhile, the Flames dropped to a 1-6-0 record after the loss.
The Golden Knights’ dominance was on full display from the opening faceoff. Brett Howden scored just 26 seconds into the game, setting the tone for a relentless offensive display.
The Flames, despite generating chances, were unable to counter Vegas’s efficiency, particularly in the third period, where Mark Stone delivered a natural hat trick to seal the win. Stone’s three unassisted goals in the third period brought his career tally of natural hat tricks to four.
The victory also underscored the Golden Knights’ home advantage over the Flames at T-Mobile Arena, who have now lost six consecutive games to Vegas.
The Golden Knights’ offensive firepower
Stone’s performance was the centerpiece of the Golden Knights’ offensive firepower, contributing to the lopsided result. The Flames, despite playing at T-Mobile Arena, were outmatched in execution, unable to generate enough pressure to slow Vegas’s transition play.
