Big Ten coach who had an abysmal record in the SEC thinks his team would be ranked in the SEC
Illinois boss Bret Bielema recently asserted that his current six-win squad would secure a spot among the top fifteen teams if they competed in the Southeastern Conference. This commentary follows a recent twenty-four to thirteen victory over Nebraska, bringing the Fighting Illini record to six wins against three losses as the season enters its final stretch.
Observers have noted the contrast between this bold claim and the coach's historical results in that same conference during his tenure leading Arkansas, where he accumulated twenty-nine defeats against just eleven victories. Meanwhile, other coaching figures like Curt Cignetti have also drawn attention toward the heavy presence of SEC programs in early College Football Playoff rankings.
