Battling Gloucester hold champions Bordeaux to kick off Champions Cup in style

Gloucester and Bordeaux Bègles finished their Champions Cup opener in a 36-36 stalemate. The match featured a strong performance from Will Trenholm, who provided a significant boost for the home side after entering as a substitute.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey scored twice for the visitors, despite facing travel complications earlier in the day when he and three teammates were detained at the border due to missing travel documentation. The draw represents a challenging start for the reigning titleholders as they attempt to secure a third consecutive championship.
