Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese delivered a strong first half in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals, scoring 14 points on 5‑for‑8 shooting and helping the Dream build a lead. In the second half she went scoreless, finishing 0‑for‑3 with three turnovers as the Dream fell 68‑64, giving the Golden State Valkyries a 1‑0 series edge.
Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase disagreed with Reese’s suggestion that the opposition did nothing to limit her, crediting forward Laeticia Amihere for the defensive matchup that slowed Reese’s production in the latter half.
