Angel Reese and the Dream's WNBA playoff dominance is reaching historic territory

The Atlanta Dream have established themselves as a formidable championship contender after securing a 92-82 victory over the New York Liberty in the opening game of their WNBA semifinal series. This win marks the team's third consecutive postseason victory by a double-digit margin, a feat only achieved by four other squads in league history, three of which ultimately claimed the title.

Angel Reese has been instrumental in this success, anchoring a defense that held the Liberty to a 92 rating during her time on the floor. Despite the loss of Allisha Gray to a hand injury, contributions from Jordin Canada and DeWanna Bonner helped sustain the team's momentum even as Rhyne Howard struggled offensively.

The Dream currently hold an eight-game winning streak, having emerged victorious in 12 of their previous 13 contests. They now look to extend their series lead to 2-0 during Wednesday night's matchup.
