Alexander Zverev has secured the year-end ATP World No. 1 ranking for 2026, capping off a season defined by his ability to remain healthy through a rigorous schedule.
The 29-year-old German claimed titles at both the French Open and Roland Garros, while also reaching the Wimbledon final and finishing with a 58-15 singles record. Beyond his major success, Zverev participated in every Grand Slam and eight Masters 1000 events, alongside a doubles victory at the Mexican Open with Marcelo Melo.
Managing his Type 1 diabetes while navigating the demanding tour calendar, Zverev has overcome significant past health hurdles, including a severe leg injury sustained during the 2022 French Open semifinals. He now turns his attention to the upcoming ATP Finals in Turin, where he aims to add to his two previous titles at the season-ending tournament.
