The Philadelphia 76ers are set to debut a historically unique starting lineup for their season opener against the New York Knicks. This group features a massive age gap between 21-year-old VJ Edgecombe and 41-year-old LeBron James, spanning a 22-year draft window.
With four of the five starters having been selected within the top three picks of their respective drafts, the team joins an elite group of only three other lineups in the last 30 years to achieve such a high level of draft pedigree. Jaylen Brown, who previously played in similar high-pedigree lineups for Boston, now transitions from a young opponent of James to a veteran teammate.
Collectively, the five starters boast 36 All-Star appearances and five regular-season MVP awards.
