A 31-year wait for success - but can Everton fans still celebrate?

Despite a turbulent transfer window that saw manager David Moyes left with a slim squad and star player Iliman Ndiaye depart for Manchester City, Everton has kicked off the Premier League campaign without a loss and advanced in the Carabao Cup. The club seeks to lift its first trophy since defeating Manchester United in the 1995 FA Cup final, ending a drought that leaves them as the only side in the top four tiers of English football without a piece of silverware or a promotion since the turn of the century.

Former midfielder Leon Osman, prominent supporter Dr. David France, Prime Minister Andy Burnham, and Canadian counterpart Mark Carney all express deep pride in their association with the institution, despite a history marked by relegation battles and a 31-year wait for major success.
