2026 WNBA season review: After high expectations and an early playoff exit, the Indiana Fever are at a crossroads

The Indiana Fever concluded their 2026 campaign with a disappointing first-round playoff exit against the Las Vegas Aces, marking the second consecutive year the team has been eliminated by the same opponent. Despite a strong regular season record of 28-16, the franchise remains without a title since 2012.

The team relied heavily on a standout trio featuring Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston, with the backcourt duo both securing top-four finishes in MVP voting. Clark averaged 22.3 points and 8.3 assists, while Mitchell contributed 24.7 points per game on high efficiency.

Boston continued her consistent play, maintaining 16.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest. Internal tension surrounding head coach Stephanie White and various off-court controversies involving players like Sophie Cunningham and DiJonai Carrington marked a turbulent season.

Management now faces critical decisions regarding the roster's future as they look to build around their core talent.
