Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed’s struggles continued in a 27-6 loss to Missouri, as the Aggies’ offense failed to find the end zone for the second straight game. The team’s only points came from two field goals by senior kicker David Olano—53 and 27 yards—while Missouri’s Jamal Roberts dominated with 222 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a 54-yard run.
Reed completed just 19 of 39 passes for 187 yards and added negative rushing yards, as the Aggies managed only 216 total yards and converted a paltry 5-of-18 third downs. Missouri’s defense, led by interceptions from Trajen Greco and Elijah Dotson, stifled Texas A&M’s ground game, allowing just 29 rushing yards on 23 carries.
Despite a late halftime stand—including a blocked field goal attempt by Brandon Davis-Swain—Missouri pulled away in the second half, extending their lead with a 51-yard field goal and a 399-yard offensive total. The loss dropped Texas A&M to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the SEC, while Reed’s season passing grade sits at 73.2, near the bottom of FBS quarterbacks.
Coach Mike Elko defended his decision not to replace Reed with sophomore Brady Hart, insisting no alternative has been developed yet, though he acknowledged the offense’s mistakes as the primary issue.
