Poonam Raut has officially retired from international cricket after a distinguished 12-year career, concluding her tenure with 2,299 runs across 73 ODI appearances. Despite a rigorous four-year effort to rejoin the national squad, including strong domestic performances and recovery from serious illness, she ultimately decided to step away to focus on coaching and mentoring emerging talent.
Raut remains proud of her contributions, particularly her role in the 2017 World Cup final and her record-breaking 320-run opening stand alongside Deepti Sharma against Ireland. She credits her time in the sport with helping to shift public perception of women's cricket in India and inspiring a new generation of female athletes.
