D.J. Moore injury: Bills wideout suffers AC Joint injury in win vs. Lions, Week 3 status in doubt

Buffalo Bills receiver DJ Moore faces uncertainty for his team's upcoming Week 3 clash against the Los Angeles Chargers after hurting his shoulder during Thursday's 41-31 victory over the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old landed awkwardly in Detroit's end zone during the second quarter of the home opener, failing to record a catch and logging only a single carry for a one-yard loss before heading to the locker room for X-rays.

Medical personnel suspect he sustained an AC joint sprain, leaving him listed as day-to-day since the issue is not viewed as overly severe. With Buffalo having ten days of rest following the Thursday night contest, Moore will receive extended recovery time to potentially return to action.

The setback comes immediately after an impressive debut with Buffalo, where Moore hauled in five receptions for 100 yards to help beat the Houston Texans 36-31. Acquired via trade from the Chicago Bears during the offseason, Moore previously played five seasons for the Carolina Panthers before heading to Chicago ahead of 2023, a campaign in which he established career highs with 1,364 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while completing his fourth 1,100-yard season over a five-year stretch.
