Alleged Daejon Love victim says she reported scammer to 49ers eight months prior to arrest

An individual who claims she was targeted by a con artist pretending to be a San Francisco 49ers player has revealed she attempted to warn the organization months prior to the suspect's arrest. Gwen Herndon stated that she submitted a digital warning through the franchise web portal in December 2025 regarding Daejon Labrayae Love, who is accused of swindling dozens of women out of over a million dollars through fake investment schemes.

Herndon alerted the franchise that the individual was severely hurting the team's standing and requested proactive steps to address the impersonation. A guest services account associated with Levi's Stadium replied at the time by noting the organization takes such matters seriously, though it declined to discuss specifics or ongoing inquiries due to legal constraints.

Federal authorities arrested Love in August alongside an alleged accomplice, charging both with wire fraud and conspiracy.
