“Accepting Any Challenge”: 2x NBA All Star Leaves No Doubt About His Angel Reese Views After Two Tense Interactions During the WNBA Semifinals

October 10, 2026

Two-time NBA All‑Star Isaiah Thomas praised Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese on X, saying her willingness to meet any challenge fuels the team’s success. Reese’s comment came after she was involved in two separate confrontations during Game 3 of the Dream’s semifinal series against the New York Liberty at State Farm Arena.

In the second quarter, Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, after being shoved earlier by rookie Isobel Borlase, pushed Borlase on a screen and drew a foul; Reese rushed toward Ionescu and had to be restrained by teammate Rhyne Howard while Marine Fauthoux and Jonquel Jones helped calm the scene. Later, with three minutes left, Jonquel Jones blocked Reese at the rim, the two tangled and were separated by teammates, resulting in offsetting technical fouls, a $500 fine for Reese and bringing her within two technicals of a one‑game suspension.

Reese finished with 22 points and nine rebounds as Atlanta won 85‑83 to sweep the series and advance to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2013.
